I have to wonder if this site is worth upgrading to a paid member status. I've tried large dating sites before in the past some people really don't know what their looking for, sure their profile sounds good & the conversation may be good, but when you connect live it's not all good. So i just have to wonder is joining any dating site worth it.

Well, I took a chance & upgraded for one month just to see what the extra features got me, but so far, if I had to do it over again, I'd wait a while longer before upgrading....till I got a conversation going with someone local. I've checked a lot of BBW dating sites out, and so far this one has the largest membership in my area, but sadly, a lot of them don't log in too often. They need to do more to entice people to be active on this site.

Hi Miss! I agree TOTALLY with Islandgal! I have joined a few sites over the years (unfortunately been single for 7, North Carolina SUCKS!!) and I became a paid member relatively quick. I can't say that I didn't "meet" anyone but I didn't meet anyone that I liked enough even to go on a date. This time around, I'm checking things out first like Islandgal said. I have never participated in blogging on any other sites so, as you can see I am trying to make a change. In the long run, you will never know the FULL potential of the site to meet someone unless you do upgrade. I always do one month first so as not to lock myself into half a year of possible disappointment for a fee. Good luck!

I suppose it really depends on what you are looking for. Despite this being the 21st century with equel rights, opportunity etc etc etc, there is still an expectation (or so it seems in my view) that it is the men who have to make the first move in contacting and emailling a potential partner. So it is the men that who have to upgrade to a paid up membership which is what I have done moments ago. Sexist perhaps but still an element of truth in it. There is still a risk in interest dating which we all have to take and I do admire a woman who is capable of making that first move. May I suggest that you try a 1 month membership and start emailing those you like and just see what happens from there. Good luck to you
